A D&D bard tracker for the whole session

BardRoll is a D&D bard tracker for the whole session: it holds your prepared spells, spell slots, Bardic Inspiration, concentration and hit points on one screen, and it knows the limits for your level. When you roll the d20 in the app, it answers with a short performance in your instrument. It runs on your phone, free.

What does BardRoll track for a bard?

Your level, hit points and Charisma modifier; the spells you prepared, with cantrips, Magical Secrets and a Lore bard's discoveries counted against their limits; every level of spell slots; Bardic Inspiration uses; the one spell you are concentrating on; and your instrument. Tracking who holds a die is an optional setting, off by default, with no expiry timer.

How does casting work in BardRoll?

Tap a prepared spell to cast it at its own level, or hold it to cast from a higher slot, and the slot is spent from the level you chose. A concentration spell becomes the one you are holding, and casting a second one names the spell it ended. Every cast opens the roll sheet for that spell, and the roll comes with a performance.

Can I keep more than one bard?

Yes. The troupe tab holds every bard you play and switches between them in a tap, each with their own slots, hit points and inspiration where you left them. On a device without an account the limit is 5 bards; with an account your bards follow you between devices.

What does BardRoll leave to you?

Everything outside a bard's spellcasting and inspiration: skills, equipment and every ability except Charisma. It never sees the DM's numbers, never rolls a saving throw, and never ends concentration when you take damage; it records what you hold and leaves the save to the table. That keeps it quick to use between turns.

Questions

Is BardRoll free?
Yes. There is no paid tier and no advertising, and you do not need a card. Play on this device with no account at all, or sign in with Google to keep your bards across devices; both give you the same app, with the same spells, slots and performances.
Which rules does BardRoll use?
The 2024 rules, as published in the SRD 5.2.1: the bard's spell slots, prepared spells, cantrips, Bardic Inspiration, Magical Secrets and the College of Lore. BardRoll follows those rules only, so a table playing an older edition will find some numbers differ, Magical Secrets most of all.
