Who this D&D companion app is for
BardRoll is a D&D companion app for one class, the bard, and for the player holding the phone. It tracks prepared spells, spell slots and Bardic Inspiration and turns each d20 roll into a short performance. Separate guides speak to bard players, dungeon masters, new players and tables that play in person.
Bard players
One screen for a bard's session: prepared spells, slots, Bardic Inspiration and hit points, with a performance on every roll.
Dungeon masters
What a bard's d20 app does at your table: a straight die, the raw face for the song, and karmic dice that announce themselves.
New players
What a new bard tracks first, and which limits the app enforces so you do not have to memorise them.
In-person tables
How a bard plays with a phone at a physical table: a d20 anyone can check, a screen that stays on, and one phone each.
Who is BardRoll for?
Anyone playing a bard in D&D 5e on the 2024 rules, and the people at the table with them. The player gets a spellcaster's bookkeeping in one place. The DM gets a fair d20 whose only optional nudge announces itself. A new player gets limits the app enforces instead of rules to memorise, and a table that plays in person gets one more voice in the room.
Is BardRoll only for bards?
Yes. It knows one class and one college, the College of Lore, because those are what the SRD 5.2.1 licenses for a bard; there is no mode for any other class. Other players at the table do not need the app to play alongside a bard who uses it.
